"Where you lead, I will follow" - Gilmore Girls

New York City will always remind me of my mom, whether she is there or not. We first went for my 18th birthday, and have been going regularly since. We weren't able to spend Mother's Day together this year, so we took a weekend trip to see Fran Drescher, our favorite late-night sitcom star, in Cinderella on Broadway! 

Here are our highlights:

 TRAVEL TIP: For cheap Broadway tickets you can go to the TKTS booth in Times Square for last-minute deals! There is also an app that you can view prior to standing in the line, but you must stand in the line to actually purchase the discounted tickets.

TRAVEL TIP: I love the Hop On Hop Off tour buses in most every city. In NYC I do recommend using the Red Line and getting a live-guide tour. The recorded audio guides are not as nice, and it's worth the additional $10 for a person to be on the bus with you. 

This was our first time visiting the Natural History Museum and we loved it! I would recommend visiting if you have the time. 

And a Mother-Daughter trip to NYC would not be complete without a trip to our favorite restaurant, Serendipity 3 - delicious! Be sure to make a reservation a few months in advance, or get there right at opening to get your name on the list otherwise the wait has been upwards of two hours! 

Happy Mother's Day to the best mom in the world! Thank you for instilling in me my love of travel - I wouldn't be who I am today without you.
